BASIC INFORMATION about Hostel YMCA:

Hostel YMCA is located directly in the historical citycenter of Banská Bystrica, just 200 meters from the main square (Námestie SNP). As the whole citycenter also hostel building breaths by the atmosphere of the past as the building was build in the 16th century. City was for a very long time influenced by the rush of merchants and crafts so the building of the hostel is not an exception.

Total capacity of the accomodation part of the Hostel YMCA is 39 beds.

You can choose between standard of „private“ (1 bed room and 2 bed rooms) or „shared“ rooms. Shared rooms are not divided into male and female. In case of your group enquiry we could split your group separately according to sex.

Hostel YMCA runs seasonally.

Groups are considered as 10 guests and more. Group could ask for 10 % discount from the price of accomodation.

Hostel rooms are located on the first, second and the third floor with a view to Lazovná street or directly to mountain range of Kremnické vrchy. This is the reason why we would like to apologize to guests with any serious physical dissability as there is no lift in the building.

Each room has its own toilet and a shower. Only 1 bed private and 2 bed private rooms share common toilet and a shower. Bathroom is in this case located in the middle between those two rooms. It is independently lockable from each room.

There is a nice resting hall at the second floor of the hostel building with possibility to watch TV or play table games. If you prefer more active time there is a pingpong table with few rackets to defeat your sparings or set of badminton rackets too. Drop in to the reception and ask. Hostel staff will gladly help you to choose from the services or give you some hints for trips or other freetime alternatives in case of a bad weather.

Reception is opened from 8:30 to 18:00. Apart from these opening hours please report a time of your arrival to the mobile contact stated in the "Contact" bookmark or specify it in the reservation form. We will gladly wait for you in the hostel. You could be accomodated from 12.00. Check outs are till 9.00, in case you are a good sleeper discuss the time of your check out with the reception staff.

Hostel YMCA is situated at the end of the pedestrian zone and still in the historical part of the city. This is the reason why you can not park in front of the hostel building. You might use the parking zone just 30 meters far from the Hostel YMCA, in the second part of Lazovná street where hostel is situated.
