Warm & cosy environment. Good kitchen to cook breakfast. Staff very helpful & friendly. Excellant restuarant near the hostel, where for a special deal you can get a 2 course meal for €3. TV lounge, ample hot water & even table tennis. Locatiion is ideal, plenty of bars to visit. Lots of nice scenery in the local area. Check out the uprising museum when you are there! Hi Petra, and greetings from Finland!

I and my fiancee Sonja stayed one night at your hostel in July. I don't know whether you remember us, but we just wanted to pass our thanks to both of you for very warm welcome and especially for your excellent recommendations. We took heed of your advices and didn't rush to Poprad (as we had planned). In Banska Bystrica we had supper at your friends' restaurant (very tasty) and the town's best ice cream (very tasty as well). Also, we visited the clocktower and took a walk at the hill and around the city. The next day - following the nicely decorated map you made for us :) - we moved to Bystra visiting the cave and taking a day-walk at the mountains from Trangoska. Now that was really beautiful and one of the highlights of our journey! The High Tatras were magnificent too, but we didn't regret the slightest bit staying a couple of days in the Low Tatras too - thank you for this :).
Altogether I think we had much too little time to spend in Slovakia and we definitely have to come back again another time. All the best, take care, Tommi

Som tu asi len 10 minút a viem, že sa sem chcem čoskoro vrátiť :o). Je tu úžasná domácka atmosféra, a aj vy naši hostitelia ste skvelí. Ale prosím domáce väzenie nám už nedávajte :o)) (po vymknutí partie). A tešíme sa na ďalší pobyt u vás, chi. Veronika a Lucia

Cool! Very cheap because they are suprisingly not for profit making organisation but the quality of the accomodation was very good and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Hello Petra, my phone did not sent the text message on Saturday evening, but it finally should have got through from another mobile. Hopefully you go it.
We set out very early in the morning. Owing to the bus connections it took quite a while until we arrived to Certovica, but the path was clear and amazing all the way along the ridge from the pass to the Chata Stefanika. Moreover last Sunday was really a "Sun day", with clear sky from dawn to dusk. Attached is a photo of the view from Dumbier. Thanks for everything.

One of the best places I have ever been to! In the city centre, close to bars (live music, good atmosphere and kind people), restaurants (tasty Slovak specialities) and places of interest (clock tower, SNP museum...). Very clean, well-equipped kitchen, and above all, Petra is very welcoming, helpful, and full of energy! Banska Bystrica is very pretty and there are a lot of things to do around the town (canoeing, small villages with wooden churches, caves, castles...). You should not miss it!!

Petra and Ivan are sweethearts ans speak excellent English. In-mid June the hostel was literally empty. I had a five bed dorm en suire and the kitchen completely to myself, which was very comfortanle if a bit odd and lonely. Both this hostel and Banska Bystrica are worthy of more visitors.

Close to city center, 20 minutes walk from bus station. Nice atmosphere and quiet room for traveller to get rest. Kitchen is fully-equipped so it's convient to cook.
